world victory road sengoku logoThe results are in from World Victory Road’s seventh event of Sengoku, dubbed “no Ran” (no rebellion). The fights took place at a popular spot for MMA events in Japan; the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Several bouts went any way but expected, as several expected winners were served a dish of reality by the respective underdogs.

Once heralded as the best lightweight in the world, Takanori Gomi lost…again…to Satoru Kitaoka by heel hook. The win by Kitaoka earned him the Sengoku Lightweight Championship. Antonio Silva’s opponent seemed to suffer a knee injury, while merely standing up. Both are strange results, but that’s how mixed martial arts can go at times.

Additionally, we offer congrats to Jorge Santiago for defeating Kazuo Misaki for Sengoku Middleweight Championship. Santiago has come leaps and bounds in his skills.
