Update: Antwain Britt no longer fighting at UWC: Confrontation in October
Former light heavyweight Ultimate Fighter 8 cast member Antwain Britt (4-1) will not be fighting Rick Roufus (4-3) at UWC:Confrontation next month, as 6th-Round.com earlier reported.
At the time of report, things were unknown as to Antwain’s fate in the UFC, due to the reality series he was involved with not having completed its full airing yet. Tonight however, Britt was dismissed from TUF 8 with a broken hand, which explains why he’d been shopping around various fight promotions outside of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
With Antwain no longer in the UFC, and not fighting in UWC’s upcoming event, news broke today of the Virginia-based fighter signing on to match-up against Hector Ramirez in Las Vegas in Super Fights MMA. The event replaced the originally scheduled Affliction: “Day of Reckoning” at the Thomas & Mack Center.
UWC’s website still lists Antwain as fighting Roufus, but we anticipate that to change in the coming days.
