TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah will face his toughest test yet in the UFC as he’s scheduled to meet fellow welterweight Brad Blackburn at Fight Night 20. The event will take place in early January from the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. This will mark the first time the promotion has entered the VA market and local fans are already pumped.
Sadollah entered the UFC via the organization’s reality show and eventually won the seventh season by submitting C.B. Dollaway in the finals. His first non-TUF fight came against Xtreme Couture member Johny Hendricks and resulted in a quick TKO loss that many felt was due to an early stoppage by controversial referee Dan Miragliotta. Not one to dwell on the defeat, Amir quickly returned to winning form by laying a 15 minute beatdown on Phil Baroni at UFC 106. In addition to putting in work inside the Octagon, the young fighter has also become the face of the some Spike TV spots such as “Inside the Octagon” and “The Aftermath”.
Blackburn comes into this bout off a split decision win over Edgar Garcia and two previous UFC victories against Ryo Chonan and James Giboo. He has veteran experience with 25 fights under his belt and is a stern test for the Virginia native, Sadollah.
