Nogueira vs. Mir, Griffin vs. Evans, Jackson vs. Silva, all at the end-of-year UFC 92. This is going to be one of the biggest UFC events in the organization’s history, to say the least. Just when you thought things couldn’t get much better than the UFC 91 Couture vs. Lesnar event, Dana White and company show us why they know how to put together cards for the fans. On Wednesday, the scheduled bouts were officially announced.

It could be argued that all of these featured bouts are fan favorites except for Evans, but now with his brutal second round knockout of Chuck Liddell at UFC 88 in Atlanta, this truly is a line-up without flaw thus far. In addition to being fan favorites, let’s rattle off why each fighter will be coming into 92 ready for fireworks…

Nogueira is the interim heavyweight champion and must defeat Mir to face the winner of Lesnar vs. Couture for a shot at the outright title.

Mir, will of course give it his all to take out Big Nog for TUF season 8 respect and the same chance at meeting the winner of the Couture – Lesnar match.

Forrest Griffin, who is arguably the true fan-favorite in the UFC right now, is making his first title defense since taking the belt from Rampage Jackson on July 5th.

Rashad Evans wants to prove his KO of Liddell was no fluke and that he is truly deserving of Griffin’s belt and the light-heavyweight title.

Rampage Jackson is against the wall, but with support from the UFC. The former champ and ex-PRIDE fighter, wants to be in contention for his former title, and needs a win to help calm the intensity surrounding his arrest in July and subsequent legal troubles.

Wanderlei is coming off a violent win over Keith Jardine and wants to put together his first back-to-back wins since arriving in the UFC after the demise of PRIDE.

Bursting at the seams with excitement, you are? I know I am.
