Word has it that former TUF contestant Matt “The Hammer” Hamill (7-2) could meet fast rising light heavyweight youngster Jon “Bones” Jones (9-0) at the show’s season 10 Finale. Rumors state two fan favorites are near verbal (and written) agreement on the bout.
Hamill rose to fame in the Octagon when appearing on season 3 of The Ultimate Fighter. The former collegiate wrestling champ is a deaf athlete and continues to wow the world with his ability to overcome adversity while posting solid victories in the cage. “Hammer” would look to make a potential bout with Jones his third win in a row after having dominated Reese Andy and Mark Munoz in the last two outings.
Jones on the other hand, is on a “meteoric” rise in the sport. “Bones” is currently undefeated and is winning over crowds with his brilliant displays of judo and inventive striking. With his takedown ability will facing a stern test if this fight comes to fruition, there will likely be no lack of energy between these two 250 pounders.
The TUF 10 Finale airs via Spike and is scheduled for December 5 at The Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas.
