What was an unfortunate end to the main event fight last Saturday night at UFC 90, between Anderson Silva and Patrick Cote, has left Cote with a serious knee injury. The knee was apparently bothering the middleweight contender earlier in the fight, before it finally gave out in the third round.

You may have noticed the current UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre sitting cageside at UFC 90. Well, just as you and I saw Thiago Alve’s impressive fight against 170 lbs contender Josh Koscheck, GSP did as well. He had the following to say, on his blog at Yardbarker.

It was not the finish to the night we were expecting, with Patrick “The Predator” Cote’s (13-5 MMA, 4-5 UFC) old knee injury coming back to haunt him in the first half of the third round. The Canadian took the middleweight champion Anderson Silva (23-4 MMA, 8-0 UFC) further into a title fight, than he had ever gone in the UFC.
