The UFC 111 main card has gone through serious shake-ups in the past few hours. It all began with welterweight contender Thiago Alves failing to be cleared by the New Jersey athletic commission due to a brain irregularity found during a CT scan.
Immediately scratched from his bout with Jon Fitch, questions quickly arose as to if Fitch would be offered another opponent and if so, who.

UFC lightweight contender Kurt Pellegrino will be returning to the Octagon from a back injury when the promotion hits his home state of New Jersey in March for UFC 111. No opponent has been named as of yet but a divisional contender is likely being that “Batman” has put together a solid three-fight win streak.
Kurt was previously scheduled to fight highly ranked Frankie Edgar but had to pull out due to back issues he says he’d been suffering from since beating Josh Neer.
