Dustin Hazelett is likely a happy man right now, a change from mere weeks ago. His previously scheduled bout with Karo Parisyan was canceled after Parisyan flaked before the weigh-ins. The fight would have been “McLovin’s” return to action after a year of rehabbing a knee ligament injury/surgery. In the end, Karo was banned from the organization (as his laundry list of excuses and drug problems mounted) and Dustin was paid his show/win money by Dana White and Co. but all the promising welterweight truly wanted was a return to …

A heavyweight bout scheduled for UFC 108 between MMA legend Antonio Rodrigo Minotauro Nogueira and Cain Velasquez has major implications for both men. According to various outlets and the MMA grapevine, the winner will be guaranteed a shot at their division’s belt.
Nogueira or Velasquez will likely face the winner of current champ Brock Lesnar vs. #1 contender Shane Carwin. The championship match should have been contested at UFC but Lesnar apparently has mono and has forced Carwin to wait until January/February 2010 at earliest. At first, it was believed Lesnar …

In a move we predicted soon after the Mexican-born fighter’s win at UFC 104, the promotion has matched undefeated HW up-and-comer Cain Velasquez (7-0) with one of the sport’s all-time greatest champions. Antonio Rodrigo Minotauro Nogueira (32-5-1) will be the likely opponent at UFC 108.
The card was to have current heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar take on #1 contender Shane Carwin, but the man with the belt is apparently ill enough with mono that he won’t be back in the gym until December or January. With this bout likely taking place …
