Ken Shamrock, who was formerly known as the “World’s Most Dangerous Man” finally picked up a much-needed win this past weekend when competing against Joanathan Ivey in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The two men competed under the USA-MMA promotional banned on October 16 with Shamrock taking a unanimous decision victory after a serious eye poke caused Ivey’s vision to be reduced to a level at which he clearly could not see Ken’s punches coming in the last round.

We’ve heard rumors swirling that Jason Guida is on tap to replace Ken Shamrock at “March Badness”, and will face Bobby Lashley.
Shamrock was set to take on the former WWE star Lashley, after a now tainted win over Ross Clifton. Following the Clifton bout, Ken was busted for using banned substances (three types of steroids). Being that he is now suspended for one year, the search is/was on for his replacement in the upcoming hybrid boxing & MMA event put on by Roy Jones Jr.

In disappointing, yet not surprising news, Ken Shamrock has been banned for a year from competition due to being busted for steroids. Three types of banned substances were found in Ken’s system; 19-Norandrosterone, 19-Noretiocholanolone and Stanozolol. He was scheduled to meet Bobby Lashley in March, however that will now be impossible. Ken’s brother Frank accused him of being a career-long user, and this recent bust lends some truth to that.

Nate “Rock” Quarry and his opponent for UFC 91, Demian Maia, have both tested clean for banned substances.
Both fighters join the list of Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Amir Sadollah (withdrew due to injury), Nick Catone, Jorge Gurgel, Aaron Riley, Mark Bocek and Alvin Robinson, all of whom passed pre-event drug tests administered by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
These preliminary tests have been used to prevent the possibility of “cycling off” steroids and other banned substances.

MMAweekly.com is reporting that UFC lightweight Hermes Franca was arrested today after 2 a.m., on suspicion of driving under the influence after WEC 36.
This is now the latest installment the chronicles of Hermes of late, which includes his acceptance and return from a 12 month suspension earlier this year for steroid use in his fight with Sean Sherk. Sherk was also banned for 12 months after failing his drug test, but had the period reduced in half.
