The Internet hype (only kind, due to severe lack of CBS promotion) surrounding Saturday’s event in which Fedor Emelianenko takes on relatively unknown Brett Rogers has been overshadowing a solid card set to be presented on Showtime.
Friday evening will be when fans can catch the latest in the Strikeforce Challengers series. The headlining fight will feature UFC vet Jorge Gurgle taking on undefeated Billy Evangelista. Russian heavyweight Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko has signed a multi-fight contract which includes co-promotion with M1-Global. This aspect of the deal is what broke down negotiations between the and UFC, earlier last week.
