Welcome folks, to my picks and predictions for UFC 93. “Franklin vs. Henderson″ will air Saturday afternoon via pay-per-view (3 pm E.T.) and is great way to start off the year. A solid line-up calls for solid picks, right? Whether you agree or disagree, leave your thoughts by commenting.

Official weigh-in results have been completed! The scale-tipping took place today (Friday, Jan. 16) from The O2 in Dublin, Ireland, at 11 am ET.
Things to note are that several of the fighters came in a bit under their max weight, which could be contributed to the long travel, but certainly wouldn’t be the only explanation.

We’ll begin with Rousimar Palhares vs Jeremy Horn.  Palhares’ first fight in the UFC was against Dan Henderson, and I was not impressed with what I saw.  He was repeatedly getting stuffed for takedown attempts, and would sometimes just fall on his back hoping Hendo would fall into his guard.  …

When I say I’m a big Dan Henderson fan, I mean it. Sure, there are countless fighters I enjoy watching and get enthused about, but Dan’s always been on a higher level in my eyes. “Hendo” as he was nicknamed, is a highly respected athlete both in and out of mixed martial arts. Although the respect will never, and should never die, his brilliant career needs a check into the “W column” this Saturday in Dublin should he continue on with dominant aspirations.
