TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah will face his toughest test yet in the UFC as he’s scheduled to meet fellow welterweight Brad Blackburn at Fight Night 20. The event will take place in early January from the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. This will mark the first time the promotion has entered the VA market and local fans are already pumped.
Sadollah entered the UFC via the organization’s reality show and eventually won the seventh season by submitting C.B. Dollaway in the finals. His first non-TUF fight came …

Former UFC middleweight contender Phil “NYBA” Baroni (13-11) will make his Octagon return against TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah (1-1) at UFC 106. The bout will be contested in the UFC’s stacked welterweight division.
Although not sporting a glorious pro MMA record, Baroni is an exciting fighter who has successfully made a drop to welterweight (170 lbs.) after spending much of his previous matches at 185 lbs. His three fight win streak in his new division came to an end via a loss to Joe “Diesel” Riggs at Strikeforce’s “Lawler vs. …

The next event we’ll be attending and reporting from live is UFC 101 in Philly, on August 8. That fight card just received two more boosts by way of scheduled/rumored welterweight bouts.
I first received word last night from contributing writer Tommy, that TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah will finally get his crack at action inside the Octagon again, against skilled wrestler Johny Hendricks. Injury-plagued since “TUF”, Sadollah suffered both a staph infection (leg) and broken collarbone which forced the cancellation of his matches both times.
Additionally, the always exciting and full-of-personality …

It’s no secret to those who know me that I’m a fan of the UFC’s ‘Fight Night’ events, which air for free on Spike TV (as opposed to pay-per-view). In addition to being able to see some great, live fights, it’s a chance for the “casual” fan to see some of the UFC’s talent which they may have not been exposed to before. If you caught the last Fight Night’s match between Jiu Jitsu whiz kid Nate Diaz and Josh Neer, you know what I mean.
Well, “The Dentist” Neer will …

Amir Sadollah has unfortunately been forced to back out of his scheduled showdown in the octagon against Nick Catone, with a leg infection. Amir was set to face Nick at UFC 91: “Couture vs. Lesnar”. It would have been his first pro fight since winning The Ultimate Fighter season 7, in which he ousted predictors’ favorite C.B. Dollaway via armbar at the TUF 7 finale.
This is a disappointing loss to what is still a great fight card. Although I was obviously bummed to hear of the native Virginian’s withdrawal, there’s …
