Strikeforce: “Payback” official fight card - October 3

Strikeforce presents their “Payback” event tonight in Broomfield, Colorado, featuring a main event of Duane “Bang” Ludwig vs. Sam “The Squeeze” Morgan.

Duane last fought in his home state of Colorado at “ROF 30 - Domination” on Sept. 15, 2007, earning a TKO victory over Mario Staple. He now looks to exact revenge for a 2005 KO loss to Sam Morgan.

Although Phil Baroni was originally scheduled to compete tonight, he is no longer on the card due to a cut sustained during his impressive win over Olaf Alfonso a few days ago at Palace Fighting Championship 10. Although a loss of some draw for the event, Strikeforce still has much pull with Frank Trigg, the “Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson, and local talent.

For those looking to experience or watch “Payback”,  Broomfield Events Center will host tonight as well as HDNet airing the action live beginning at 10 p.m. ET.

The entire line-up of MMA action is as follows:

Main event:

  • 165 lbs.: Duane “Bang” Ludwig (16-8) vs. Sam “The Squeeze” Morgan (19-11)

Main card:

  • 185 lbs: Frank “Twinkle Toes” Trigg (17-6) vs. Falaniko “Niko” Vitale (26-8)
  • 170 lbs: Pete “The Secret Weapon” Spratt (18-14) vs. Donnie Liles (11-5)
  • 155 lbs: Luke “Lil Hulk” Caudillo (15-11) vs. Billy Evangelista (7-0)
  • 205 lbs: Andrew Walker (0-0) vs. Carlos Zevallos (0-0)
  • 112 lbs: Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson (3-2) vs. Tyra Parker (0-1)
  • 145 lbs: Tyler Toney (0-0) vs. Ricky Johnson (0-1)

“Young Guns” bouts:

  • 170 lbs: Lumumba Sawyers vs. Drew Dober
  • 155 lbs: Jordan Goodwin vs. Alan Gomez
  • 155 lbs: Jeremy Malaterre vs. Eric Galvin
  • 125 lbs: Aaron Trujillo vs. Haven Torres

Tonight’s fights will act as a great start to a weekend which includes the third installment of CBS’s Saturday Night Fights with “EliteXC: Heat” featuring a title fight between welterweight champ Jake Shields and Paul Daley.
