Strikeforce middleweight champ Cung Le talks Anderson Silva
Strikeforce middleweight champ Cung Le has crafted one of the most dominant (and virtually flawless) careers in martial arts. With a San Shou background, Le has shown a tremendous transition into MMA and put an exclamation point on his current win streak with a brutal victory over Frank Shamrock last year.
As one of the world’s most dangerous strikers, he would clearly match-up well with UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva, and thus the super-fight buzz has been fueled for months.
Cung’s thoughts on facing “The Spider”…
“A lot of people talk about me fighting in the UFC, but I still have a fight contract with Strikeforce. I know UFC has done Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie before, and if Dana White’s open for that, I think that’s the only way I can leave my contract for one fight against their champion, which would be Anderson Silva. But I couldn’t just turn my back on Strikeforce… they’ve done a lot for me. But you never know.”
