Update: A deal has been reached, and the assets will be purchased by Strikeforce, as reported by Sam Caplan.
Late last year, ProElite (parent company of EliteXC) shut down operations and folded for good. 6th-Round.com was one of the first sites on the ‘net to pass along the info. The aftermath of the promotion’s demise left many fighters without employment, and fans wondering when they’d get to see some of their favorite athletes back in action.
Well, today brings news of some resolve as popular California-centric MMA organization Strikeforce may soon pick up the leftover assets. Additions to the Strikeforce roster such as Gina Carano, Jake Shields, Nick Diaz, Kimbo Slice, Paul Daley and more, would be welcomed additions by many who already follow Strikeforce and newbies alike.
We’ll keep our eyes and ears open on this situation, and pass along the news of further developments to you all.
