Strikeforce: “Evolution” post-fight press conference reveals two title fights set for Miami show
It was announced last night’s post-fight press conference following the Strikeforce: “Evolution” event that two title fights will be on the promotion’s next major fight card.
Two of the top women in MMA will battle it out for the featherweight title as Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos is scheduled to meet the proven Dutch product Marloes Coenen. Santos was last seen wrecking the well-known face of Gina Carano, and Coenen had her first victory under the Strikeforce banner in August when she defeated Roxanne Modafferi.
Also slated to hook ‘em up for the 170 lbs. strap are welterweights Nick Diaz and Marius Zaromskis. Diaz was last scheduled to compete against Jay Hieron for the division’s title belt but his marijuana use once again got in the way of being allowed to appear. On the other side of this bout is red-hot Zaromskis who has made a name for himself with vicious head kick KOs in Japan.
This event will be held in Miami on January 30 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.
