Popular Japanese MMA promotion “DREAM”, which is owned and operated by those of former “PRIDE” days, have announced on their website that lightweight fighter Shinya Aoki (17-3-1) will face off against Todd Moore. This match-up joins an impressive list of bouts scheduled for the upcoming DREAM 6 event, scheduled for September 23rd at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan

DREAM 6 is an opportunity for Shinya to bounce back after losing in the final round of the promotion’s  lightweight Grand Prix in June. Joachim Hansen re-entered the tournament as a reserve and deafted Aoki, after replacing Eddie Alvarez who suffered an injury.

One should note, that Aoki has defeated Moore at PRIDE’s “Shockwave” event on New Year’s Eve in 2006. Todd has much to prove in this overseas fight, being that he is now 2-0 in the WEC, after racking up nine straight wins before the Zuffa-owned promotion signed the mixed martial artist based out of Houston, Texas.

You might be wonder what someone from the WEC roster is doing in DREAM, however has received permission for him to compete on this occasion outside of the World Extreme Cagefigting banner.
