WAMMA lightweight champ Shinya Aoki will get his long-awaited rematch against popular Japanese fighter Hayato “Mach” Sakurai at DREAM.8.
The Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan will be the stage for this 155 lbs. bout, and you better believe both want this win. Aoki is on a roll as of late, and “Mach” has been a fixture at the top of Japanese MMA (DREAM, PRIDE, Shooto) for years.
At Shooto back in 2005, Sakurai barely out-pointed Aoki. Shinya had a solid performance but was unable to impress the judges enough to gain the W.
Shinya has won seven of his last eight, while Hayato has also racked up seven of eight.
