Sean Sherk off UFC 104 with injury, Josh Neer to face Gleison Tibau
Former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk (33-4-1) has pulled out of his upcoming UFC 104 bout with Gleison Tibau (17-6) due to a reported shoulder injury. Both Sherk and Tibau are coming off tough losses inside the Octagon, each being on the wrong end of decisions this summer.
While “The Muscle Shark” recovers, Josh Neer (25-8-1) has stepped in to face the tough Brazilian grappler Tibau.
Neer has gone 4-5 in the UFC over two stints with the organization and certainly needs a win to erase the memory of being totally dominated by Kurt Pellegrino in his last outing.
UFC 104 features a main event of light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida facing off against fellow Brazilian and former PRIDE star Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in Los Angeles on October 24.
