Randy Couture vs. Mark Coleman is likely for UFC 109 main event slot
Although with a combined age of nearing 100, the two oldest light heavyweights in the UFC have been selected for “109″ main event status. If reports from various outlets and those close to the fighters are to come to fruition, former champs Randy Couture and Mark Coleman will hook ‘em up in February of 2010.
Originally it was thought that the promotion would wait to see if Anderson Silva would be healthy enough to handle headlining duties opposite Vitor Belfort but Couture vs. Coleman tells fans that bout has been placed on the back burner.
Injuries are something raining all over the UFC’s parade as of late and one can only hope Coleman does not blow out his knee for a third time in a year’s or so span. Mark was originally scheduled as the co-headline fight with Tito Ortiz on the 106 card but will not step back into the Octagon against Couture \, who just took a unanimous decision victory over Brandon Vera at 105.
