What was an unfortunate end to the main event fight last Saturday night at UFC 90, between Anderson Silva and Patrick Cote, has left Cote with a serious knee injury. The knee was apparently bothering the middleweight contender earlier in the fight, before it finally gave out in the third round.
Cote’s trainer Mark Dellagrotte of Sityodtong in Boston, Mass., could be heard telling Patrick “The Predator” to use his hands during stand-up exchanges. It was good advice, but ultimately could not prevent the inevitable. Patrick told the fans after the fight was stopped, that it’s an older injury which came back to haunt him at precisely the wrong time.
