Lyoto Machida will receive long-anticipated title shot this summer
Undefeated UFC light heavyweight Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida will have a crack at the coveted belt this summer, according to Dana White.
The UFC President confirmed the rumored title shot while appearing on Setanta Sports during the UFC 95 festivities. Even more interesting is the fact that White revealed the match would likely be back in the UK and current champ Rashad Evans would be Lyoto’s opponent.
That being said…
Former champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson squares off against always-dangerous Keith Jardine at UFC 96 in March, in a bout that will likely determine whether Jackson receives a chance at reclaiming the belt he lost to Forrest Griffin in 2008.
The thought of Quinton against either Lyoto OR Rashad is thrilling, to say the least.
