UFC lightweight contender Kurt Pellegrino will be returning to the Octagon from a back injury when the promotion hits his home state of New Jersey in March for UFC 111. No opponent has been named as of yet but a divisional contender is likely being that “Batman” has put together a solid three-fight win streak.

Kurt was previously scheduled to fight highly ranked Frankie Edgar but had to pull out due to back issues he says he’d been suffering from since beating Josh Neer.

Last Monday i was cleared by my orthopedic to get back to full time training, my back is as good as its going to get for now! I am doing active release therapy (ART) weekly and keeping up with my sports massages and its really been awesome for my back. Im really excited to get back in the gym full time, 7 weeks off was the worst. I have some exciting new training coming up, will keep everyone updated on that.
