Krzysztof Soszynski replaces injured Houston Alexander on UFC 98 card
An event riddled with injuries leading up to fight night, UFC 98 encountered another setback when light heavyweight Houston Alexander broke his hand during training. His opponent Andre Gusmao was left with questions as to his immediate future, with Houston sidelined due to cracked digits.
Have no fear, in steps “The Polish Expirement”. Krzysztof Soszynski was announced today by the UFC as the official replacement for Alexander, and the choice is a solid one. Soszynski has shown a solid skill set during his time on TUF 8 and most recently in his match against former WEC champ Brian Stann.
Stann, who came into the fight with dangerous stand-up, fell victim to Krzysztof’s dominant ground game and was eventually finished by a beautiful kimura in the first round. The match up against Gusmao is certainly intriguing and provides Soszynski a perfect opportunity to notch solid wins in back-to-back events, which is often unheard of.
