“Kimbo Slice” Ferguson vs. Mitrione official for UFC 113, McSweeney vs. Browne likely at TUF Finale
Former NFL player Matt “Meathead” Mitrione will face Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson at UFC 113. The UFC officially confirmed the long-rumored bout yesterday via their official website and Twitter account. This fight will take place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where the organization has enjoyed massive turnouts for previous shows.
Both men were contestants on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 10 and although neither won the show, each man has tasted victory in the Octagon since. Mitrione defeated fellow TUF 10 castmate Marcus Jones by knockout and Ferguson decisioned Houston Alexander.
Another fight on the horizon which could prove to be a striking battle at the TUF 11 Finale is James McSweeney going up against undefeated Travis Browne. Browne will be making his UFC debut while McSweeney competed in the same season of TUF as Kimbo and Meathead (and defeated Darrill Schoonover by TKO in his last outing).
Also rumored for the TUF 11 Finale is a rematch between Stephan Bonnar and Krzysztof Soszynski. The two light heavyweights met at UFC 110 on the under card but the bout was stopped between the second and third rounds due to a cut on Bonnar’s forehead.
