Kim Couture (1-1) will once again return to action inside the cage. Wife of UFC legend Randy Couture, Kim will face an impressive Miesha Tate (5-1) under the Strikeforce banner. The news comes from the organization’s official website, which we saw updated several hours ago.
“ShoMMA: Strikeforce Challengers” is set for May 15, and will be the first in a series that showcases up-and-coming fighters much like the ShoXC Challenger Series did before the demise of Elite XC.
Kim had been training in MMA before meeting and marrying husband Randy Couture, but has now turned pro and is .500 with a 1-1 record after a bloody decision loss to Kim Rose, followed by a dominant win over Lina Kvokov at the end of 2008.
Tate, has a surging stock at 5-1 and won her last four in a row. With Kaitlin Young being the only woman to hand her a loss, Miesha’s a tough, experienced test for her opponent. Expect fireworks, ladies and gents.
