Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson on Fields K-1 WGP 2008 Final’s HDNet broadcast team

Fields K-1 WGP 2008As expected by many MMA ‘pundits’ including myself, Kimbo Slice has looked across the ocean for work after the demise of his former marketing schemers (aka failed fight organization) Elite XC.

Kevin Ferguson who is also widely known as “Kimbo Slice” from his YouTube street fighting days, will be a “guest broadcaster” during HDNet’s U.S. broadcast of FiELDS K-1 WGP 2008 Final. Now, if you’ve ever heard any of the attempted interviews with Kimbo, you’ll know full well the man utters no more than two to three consecutive words at a time. That being said, it’s puzzling as to why HDnet would put him in the color commentary chair.

One possible explanation for this move, is that K-1 has said they are inerested in signing Ferguson to fight in their organization. If all goes to plan (which doesn’t always happen with this guy, as we saw in Seth Petruzelli’s 14 second destruction if him) we may see this highly criticized fighter competing in stand-up only matches aired via HDnet.

Do you personally think Kimbo Slice will discover second life in Japan, or will the former street fighter flop once again as he did in Elite XC?
