Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves canceled with Alves suffering knee injury
Jon Fitch will no longer face Thiago Alves at UFC 107. Alves has reportedly suffered a knee injury during training and has pulled out of the recently scheduled bout.
Fitch’s original opponent was to be Ricardo Almeida and the would meet at 106, however Almeida suffered an injury and was forced to withdraw. The injury was, oddly enough, the knee. The cursed match making at this time of year leaves not many options left for the top-tier welterweight.
If Fitch was even willing to fight his teammates Josh Koscheck or Mike Swick, which he’s not, those two are already tied up in other matches. Kos co-headlines UFC 106 while Swick competes across the pond at 105.
We’ll keep you up to date on what’s next for Jon.
