john doomsday howardJohn “Doomsday” Howard (13-4) has confirmed rumors that he will face Anthony “Rumble” Johnson (11-3) in a UFC welterweight match-up. We’re hearing word that the fight will likely take place sometime in March.

Howard is coming off a knockout victory of veteran Dennis Hallman and has won all three of his fight since joining the UFC. In fact, the exciting 170 lbs.’er is currently riding a six-fight win streak. With most of his “W”s coming by way of submission, his best chance in defeating Johnson lies in taking the action to the ground.

Johnson has his hands full in this bout in facing someone who can match his speed, power and agility. ‘Rumble” was last seen inside the cage being submitted via rear-naked choke by contender Josh Koscheck. In order to get back into the win column, Anthony will have to be smart in picking his strikes while avoiding the takedown (oh, and first make weight).
