Middleweight fights in the UFC are getting better and better, most recently with the breaking news of 185 lbers Jason MacDonald and Wilson Gouveia set to do battle at the TUF 8 finale. The season-end show will take place at ‘the Pearl at the Palms’ in Vegas, on December 13. MacDonald’s manager Mark Pavelich let out word of the previously rumored bout, according to MMAweekly.

MacDonald’s enjoying renewed life in the UFC, as he scored a nice win at UFC 88 in September, when he submitted now-released (yep, cut from the official roster) Jason Lambert. Wilson alike, is coming off his own win over Ryan Jensen at his middleweight debut during UFC Fight Night 15. Previously, Gouveia was signed as a light-heavyweight where he managed to put together a 4-3 record.

Jason’s a Jiu Jitsu stud who makes for a good fight with Gouveia. Look for these two to test their stand-up range early-on, but likely take it to the ground where superior grappling from either will determine the victor.
