A heavyweight collision between contenders Frank Mir and Cheick Kongo has been confirmed for the upcoming UFC 107 event in Memphis, Tenn. The fight will likely bolt one of the men back into contention, but both are coming off recent losses at UFC 99 (Kongo to Velasquez) and 100 (Mir to Lesnar).
Originally scheduled to be headlined by TUF 10 coaches Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans, the card is now without a main event as Jackson will focus his efforts on playing a part in the upcoming A-Team movie. (Hold your laughs until the end of this post…)
The rumored UFC 107 card is shaping as follows:
Frank Mir vs. Cheick Kongo
Thiago Alves vs. Paulo Thiago
Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida
