dustin hazelettDustin Hazelett is likely a happy man right now, a change from mere weeks ago. His previously scheduled bout with Karo Parisyan was canceled after Parisyan flaked before the weigh-ins. The fight would have been “McLovin’s” return to action after a year of rehabbing a knee ligament injury/surgery. In the end, Karo was banned from the organization (as his laundry list of excuses and drug problems mounted) and Dustin was paid his show/win money by Dana White and Co. but all the promising welterweight truly wanted was a return to action.

Now, Dustin will have the chance to shake off the cage rust against hard-hitting Brit, Paul “Semtex” Daley at UFC 108. Daley’s original opponent, Carlos Condit, withdrew from their fight with a supposed hand injury (which is rumored to be covering up a lack of beginning camp on time). As 108 has already suffered a slew on injuries to originally line-up matches, we expected the UFC to appease Daley with a replacement opponent and Hazelett is someone we can all even consider an upgrade in the bout.

UFC 108 takes place on January 2, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event features a headlining fight with former LHW champ Rashad Evans meeting highly ranked contender Thiago Silva.
