Maximum Fighting Championships gets a big boost to their May 13 card, MFC 21, with the addition of a main event between two former UFC middleweights. Travis Lutter, best known for missing weight in a title shot against Anderson Silva, will meet ADCC champ and UFC vet Dean “Boogeyman” Lister.

Lutter has been out of action since a loss to Rich Franklin at UFC 83 in 2008. He was unable to capitalize on submission oppourtunities, eventually lost by TKO, and was cut by the organization. Rumors emerged shortly afterward that he would return against Joe Doerksen, but were quickly dispelled.

Lister has stated he would like to face current WAMMA heavyweight champ Fedor Emelianenko at this year’s ADCC. This match against Lutter could provide Dean positive momentum and confidence heading into ADCC, as he lost by decision to Yushin Okami at UFC 92.

MFC 21 also includes David Heath vs. Travis Galbraith, Mike Nickels, John Alessio, Solomon Hutcherson and Marcus Aurelio.
