Kitaoka wins two gold medals at Gi Amateur BJJ & No-Gi Open Tournament 2009
Not only did Satoru Kitaoka participate in the Gi Amateur BJJ & No-Gi Open Tournament 2009 on Monday, he also managed to net gold twice.
The current SENGOKU lightweight champ took on stiff competition in the No-Gi Adult Expert -79.5kg & absolute (open-weight) division tournaments. Specifically, Kitaoka dominated the absolute division by (in order of match) guillotine choke, achilles lock and anaconda choke.
Japanese fans eagerly await the champ’s return to a title defense, as Satoru has not entered the ring since his victory over Takanori Gomi in January of this year. He is expected to face Kazunori Yokota or Mizuto Hirota under the SENGOKU banner.
