Monday Morning MMA Marinade - UFC 101 / WEC 42 edition

With the passing of the weekend came shocking endings to multiple fights. Two nights filled with thrilling MMA action were delivered to us in the forms of UFC 101 and WEC 42.
Saturday: 101’s card was near custom-tailored for a fan like myself who enjoys plenty of grappling mixed in with striker vs. striker bouts. Being a huge Kenflo and Forrest fan, I was eager to see them take on the highest levels of competition yet in their respective careers. This was echoed by others I’d chatted with and the buzz …

Monday Morning MMA Marinade: Questions abound, post-UFC 99

UFC 99 has come and gone, leaving everyone with plenty of questions.

Miguel Torres successfully defended his title in the 135 lbs. division, fending off a very game opponent in Takeya Mizugaki. This was the first time Miguel had been taken such distance, and Mizugaki proved to be a huge test. Hats off to both men, for an incredible fight.
Former featherweight champ and now top contender Urijah Faber has said he’ll likely test the waters at 135 and 155 lbs. Additionally, the dominant …

Monday Morning MMA Marinade - K1 Bojansky edition

The weekend has come and gone, and so did Alistair Overeem’s hopes of becoming a heavyweight victor at K1.

Remy Bojansky, who later revealed he had badly tweaked his knee beforehand, took the decision victory by knocking Overeem down in the last round. The heavyweight tournament winner was Keijiro Maeda…
