It was widely considered a stepping stone match to the highly desired bout that lingered in the air between Fedor and current Strikeforce HW champ Alistair Overeem. I am of course referring to the now-infamous Saturday night fight in which massive underdog Fabricio Werdum was victorious over the world’s most legendary fighter. Although awkward to say and even harder to wrap one’s head around this new-found reality - “Fedor” has been stopped.
Werdum presented a serious threat on the ground coming into his match with Fedor but many of the long-time …

UFC 107 delivered in big ways this past Saturday night but it was the main event which likely blew most of us away. After Mir’s embarrassment of Cheick Kongo (which I had a feeling about) and Kenflo submitting The Carpenter, fans geared themselves up to see champ BJ Penn go to work against challenger Diego Sanchez.

6th-Round.com was cageside providing live coverage throughout the evening and we can attest that the crowd was thrilled from start to finish by the amazing display of athleticism and heart by all the fighters on the night’s card. UWC’s quality production further added polish to the event and will surely continue their growth with commitment to being the best MMA on the east coast.

Monday Marinade, Opinion, Women's MMA »
Another week has come and gone in MMA and we now know who the Strikeforce lady champ at 145 lbs. is. After having steamrolled female fighting sensation Gina Carano on Saturday night, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos is likely not the face of women’s MMA but is quite arguably the best.
Carano quickly found out inside the cage that she is not on the athletic level she needs to be. She absolutely did the best she could and showed a warrior’s spirit, but the speed and agility was just not clicking after absorbing …
