Injury-prone lightweight Thiago Tavares will no longer compete on the UFC 114 under card. He was to meet Melvin Guillard in a 155 lbs. match but has suffered another injury to his elbow.
Tavares has had little success in the Octagon as of late with only winning one out of his past four bouts and coming to a draw with Nik Lentz in his most recent outing.
No replacement for Guillard has been announced at this time.

CHICAGO (April 12, 2010) - Tyler Stinson, the 24-year-old winner of Bellator Fighting Championships’ Kansas City tryout has been added to Bellator’s eight-man welterweight tournament, replacing Sean Pierson, who was forced to withdraw because of a serious knee injury suffered in training.
Stinson (16-5) will face knockout artist Dan “The Handler” Hornbuckle (19-2) in a first round bout at Bellator 15 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., on April 22.

Former UFC middleweight champ Rich “Ace” Franklin tells Sportsnet.ca that he has a hernia which will be taken care of before it becomes a larger issue.
“I’m taking some time off,” he said. “I have hernia surgery scheduled next week. I have a slight tear in my upper stomach. I need to get it taken care of. Once I do that, then I’ll get back to a normal training regimen.”

Dustin Hazelett is likely a happy man right now, a change from mere weeks ago. His previously scheduled bout with Karo Parisyan was canceled after Parisyan flaked before the weigh-ins.
