Nate Diaz vs. Gray Maynard
While both fighters possess crisp boxing, Maynard has the wrestling edge while Diaz has dangerous Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I expect this to be a back and forth battle going all over the Octagon and being decided by who can outmatch who on the ground. We all saw Joe Stevenson put a clinic on Diaz with his superior wrestling so it’s up to Diaz to bait for submission attempts.
Edge: Maynard
Evan Dunham vs. Efrain Escudero
Dunham is widely considered the underdog going into this fight but is unbeaten in the UFC, as is Escudero. Both men have similar skill sets having power in the stand-up aspect but also not afraid grapple
Edge: Escudero
Tom Lawlor vs. Aaron Simpson
Like Dunham and Escudero, two men who are undefeated in the UFC are going at it tonight. Lawlor and Simpson will bring solid wrestling into the bout so the momentum could very well be decided by who gets the better of the stand-up battle. Simpson’s the older athlete but Lawlor has a bit more cage time.
Edge: Too close to call
Brad Blackburn vs. Amir Sadollah
Brad’s no slouch and will be a tough test for Sadollah. It’ll be Amir’s kicks that Brad will have to avoid damage from if he wishes to get this to the ground. Once on the mat though, Sadollah is very capable of throwing up precise submission attempts and locking them on as we saw in his fights with C.B. Dollaway.
Edge: Sadollah
