Welcome 6th round fans to my picks and predictions for Strikeforce: “Carano vs. Cyborg”. Tomorrow night we are treated to a spectacular card when Showtime once again holds Strikeforce on their network. The main event will be historic as the first time ever we are treated to a female bout.

The face of women’s MMA Gina “Conviction” Carano will face her toughest opponent when she battles 7-1 Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos. This will determine if Carano retains her crown as the best female fighter in the world or will Santos defeat her and be the most dominant female in MMA. Check out my picks and see if you agree. Let’s get it on!

Picks outcome: 6-3

Main event:

Gina “Conviction” Carano vs. Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos: I was convinced Cyborg will take this fight but I think Ginas tenacity will win this fight. Gina by decision

Fight card (televised):

Gilbert Melendez vs. Mitsuhiro Ishida: Gilbert via submission round 1
Renato “Babalu” Sobral vs. Gegard Mousasi: Mousasi via TKO round 2
Jay Hieron vs. Jesse Taylor: Jay Hieron will be hot in this fight and destroy Taylor in the 1st.
Mike Kyle vs. Fabricio Werdum: Werdum will take this fight the distance and win via decision

Under card (may not be broadcast):

Mike Cook vs. Scott Lighty: Undefeated Scott Lighty will KO Mike Cook in round 1
David “Tarzan” Douglas vs. Justin Wilcox: David via TKO in round 2
Zak Bucia vs. James Terry: Terry by submission
Isaiah Hill vs. Alex Trevino: Hill by decision

Since the site has gone live I am at a dismal 53-41 in picks due to a truly awful showing for WEC 42 “Torres v. Bowles” prediction. I am feeling comfortable in these picks so tomorrow night live from the HP Pavilion in San Jose California it will be SHOWTIME =)
